Abstract
This paper is contextualized within the framework of the accreditation of undergraduate psychology curricula in Mexico, highlighting the importance of having qualified evaluators, which implies continuing education processes. Therefore, this qualitative research was conducted to understand what continuing education should consist of and the actual training needs of evaluators in this field. Official documents on higher education and various national and international accrediting agencies were reviewed, as well as a consultation with evaluators from the CA-CNEIP in Mexico. The results highlight four areas of training: legislation, academic aspects of curricula, evaluation, and training for professional practice in current contexts. It is concluded that accreditors need to be aware of the latest trends, methodologies, and standards in the field of education and the discipline in order to conduct more accurate and effective evaluations.
