Abstract

The mission of disciplinary accreditation bodies is to provide high-quality evaluators. This essay presents a proposal for the training and development of evaluators of the Accreditation Committee of the National Council for Teaching and Research in Psychology (CA-CNEIP). This proposal arises from research conducted by its members (Aguirre, Castillo, and de la Torre 2024). This proposal serves as input to define, among others, three of the most relevant areas: a) management of the Qualis Plus platform, b) bioethics, and c) digital competencies.

Regarding the first topic, the Committee's board of directors conducted training on the use of Qualis Plus in 2024. This work will address two topics: bioethics and digital competencies.

Bioethics provides a normative and reflective framework that ensures that educational programs are ethical, humanistic, and socially responsible. Evaluators will be able to analyze whether curricula include principles such as beneficence, autonomy, and justice, which ensure the ethical training of future psychologists. Evaluators who accredit psychology programs require digital skills, especially digital literacy for the transition to a virtual world with rules and communication tools more focused on collaboration, ongoing content creation and innovation, management skills for searching, organizing, and evaluating activities, and digital security, which is important for protecting the data and privacy of individuals and institutions.

The proposal consists of a 40-hour course on bioethics and a diploma in digital skills, consisting of three 40-hour courses.

Finally, as evaluators of higher education programs, it is essential to access ongoing training plans to meet the skills required to perform the role effectively and efficiently, for the benefit of institutions undergoing accreditation.
