El Aprendizaje Asociativo: ¿Qué es y cuáles son los procesos básicos involucrados?

Abstract

"El siguiente artículo aborda los principios básicos del aprendizaje asociativo necesarios para su comprensión y estudio. Para ello se realiza un breve recorrido de los investigadores que sentaron las bases de lo que hoy conocemos como aprendizaje pavloviano e instrumental. Permitiendo ofrecer una explicación detallada de los procesos, las contingencias, los tipos de reforzadores implicados en el funcionamiento de cada tipo de condicionamiento, así como sus aplicaciones. Este trabajo aborda los tipos de asociación estímulo-respuesta y estímulo-estímulo (i.e., pavlovianos) hasta las asociaciones estímulo-respuesta y respuesta-consecuencia (i.e., instrumentales), los fenómenos de recuperación de respuesta, las principales contribuciones al estudio de la conducta e investigaciones realizadas que dan sustento tanto a la teoría de aprendizaje asociativo, como a los temas expuestos, dejando en evidencia los motivos por los cuales esta continúa siendo de interés para la psicología contemporánea.” 

Abstract

The following article addresses the basic principles of associative learning necessary for its understanding and study. For this purpose, a brief review of the researchers who set the bases of what we know today as pavlovian and instrumental learning is made. This allows to offer a detailed explanation of the processes, the contingencies, the types of reinforcers involved in the functioning of each type of conditioning, as well as their applications. This work deals with the types of stimulus-response and stimulus-stimulus associations (i.e., Pavlovian) up to the stimulus-response and response-outcome associations (i.e., instrumental), the phenomena of response recovery, the main contributions to the study of behavior and research carried out that support both the theory of associative learning and the previously discussed topics, highlighting the reasons why it continues to be of interest for contemporary psychology.
