The times they are a-changin':Book review of “Interactive soliloquies on human nature”

Abstract

Meticulous experiments, historical-conceptual reflections, systematic theoretical constructs, correlational research, clinical case studies, diagnostic evaluations, impersonal counseling, and personal advice; it might seem that psychology should be responsible for all of this, but the reality is that no one knows for sure. The work of Professor Jorge Borja review here invites us to ask ourselves: if we are not clear about our assignment, then how will we know what we are supposed to do as psychologists, and with respect to which aspect of empirical reality will we do it? Soliloquies offer a provocative and refreshing response to this and other unsettling disciplinary questions.
